Brooklyn Clean Energy Hub

Location: Vinegar Hill, NY

Client: Haugland Group LLC

Agency: Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc.

Scope: LEED Certification Management

Located in the neighborhood of Vinegar Hill in Brooklyn, New York, the Con Edison Clean Energy Hub serves as a gateway for delivering clean and sustainable energy from offshore clean energy sources to New York City.

Quadrant Engineering was subcontracted to manage the LEED certification scope of this project, overseeing the detailed tracking, documentation, and reporting of sustainable materials and construction waste processes in accordance with stringent certification requirements. Achieving LEED certification is a critical benchmark for environmentally responsible construction, promoting energy efficiency, reduced environmental impact, improved indoor environmental quality, and long-term operational cost savings. It also reflects a project’s commitment to sustainability, which is increasingly important for regulatory compliance, stakeholder expectations, and overall asset value.

Given the complexity of LEED requirements—ranging from material sourcing and documentation to waste diversion and credit compliance—the process demands a high level of organization, accuracy, and continuous coordination across multiple project stakeholders. Quadrant’s role ensures that all required data is properly captured, verified, and submitted, minimizing the risk of missed credits or delays in certification. In addition, our team provides strategic recommendations for alternative materials and construction approaches to further enhance the project’s sustainability profile and maximize achievable LEED credits. Through this structured and proactive approach, we help streamline the certification process while reinforcing the project’s environmental and operational goals.
